McTimoney Manipulation

The McTimoney Way - Manipulation

The McTimoney way is a gentle whole body treatment which aims to restore correct musculoskeletal alignment and nerve function which promotes natural health

It is a straightforward method of adjusting the bones of your body to maintain the correct alignment of your spine and to ensure that your body’s nerve supply works efficiently. Through these subtle adjustments, treatment can relieve pain and discomfort, increase mobility and provide a route to better health.

If any part of your spinal column becomes misaligned then a nerve may become impinged, compressed or stretched, distorting the information that passes along it. This can lead to pain, discomfort, or restricted mobility. A misalignment of the vertebrae or bones can occur for many reasons, some of the most common being incorrect lifting, car or sporting accidents, childbirth, falls, stress and poor posture.

McTimoney practitioners use very gentle and swift techniques that appear to be extremely light. The key to the success of the adjustments however, is the speed, dexterity, and accuracy with which they are delivered. The actual manoeuvre happens very fast - patients feel almost nothing apart from a light contact of the practitioner's hands.
Patients report a wide range of improvements.

The gentle nature of the McTimoney technique makes it especially suitable for people of all ages including young babies, pregnant women and the elderly.

Many years of experience have shown the McTimoney technique to be a most effective form of manipulative therapy and, indeed, over the years we have achieved consistently fine results at this centre using this technique. The gentleness of the method and its holistic approach to health that distinguishes McTimoney from other manipulative techniques and its proven effectiveness at this centre over the years form the deciding factors in our decision to offer this therapy in preference to all others.

Our McTimoney Practitioner is Roz Lowe. With over 30 years experience, Roz has been at our Kings Norton clinic for most of these. She works on Tuesday afternoons.
