Stephanie worked for many years within NHS autism assessment services in community and inpatient settings, specialising in the detection of autism in complex presentations, particularly in females who also experience mental health difficulties. Stephanie runs Central England’s Clinical Excellence Network (CEN) for autism, and also specialises in Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). As a clinical linguist, Stephanie has nine years of university training in language development and was formerly (a long time ago!) lecturer in the language department of the Sorbonne University in Paris, writing national SATS exams for the French Ministry of Education.
Speech and Language Therapists specialise in language development, communication and social skills. In this capacity they play a key role in the assessment, diagnosis and post-diagnostic support for autism. Stephanie is a certified member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
